Results from July 1st visit...

Hi everyone,

It's been a couple of weeks since we have posted anything - sorry about that. To be honest, it has been a very busy but peaceful couple of weeks. Between vacation and business trips it feels like we haven't been home much. We are still riding high on the Levi's bone marrow results, and there are days when everything seems normal. We are thankful for this, as we know that the peace we feel can only come from God. It is because we are trusting in him through all of this that we can carry on "normal" day-to-day routines (at least as normal as possible with a 2 year old and a 3 month old!).

We took Levi down to Riley Hospital for his checkup today. Caylee tagged along, and paraded around the doctor's office like she owned the place. She loved the aquarium, and had her fair share of suckers, which were provided by the receptionist. She doesn't know a stranger... Levi did really well - they were able to get blood with just one stick. He weighed 13.8 lbs and was 24 inches long. His blood tests all came back NORMAL and the doctor was very pleased. We don't have to take him back down until SEPTEMBER!!! We are very, very excited about that. The nurse practitioner commented that she felt privileged to know Levi because of the amazing recovery he has made. We get the strong sense that his little battle and the victories God has given us have been a bright point for the nurses and doctors involved.

It sounds like there may be another bone marrow test when he is around 9 months old, but for the most part, the doctor is confident that the blood tests are sufficient for keeping an eye on things. After Levi turns 1, we may only be going down every few months, and that will continue to decrease in frequency the older he gets. It may be that at 3 years old he doesn't have to go down at all and they will rely on normal checkups with his pediatrician. We have a long way to go before then, but we are moving forward with confidence.

Thank you all again for your continued prayers! We love you all.
