This is a prayer that my sister Hannah Whitesell wrote for Levi. Thanks Hannah, it is beautiful and sums up so much.
...
Far be it from me Father,
That I should question Your will.
Practicing this faith is now harder,
With my heart in anguish still.
Life it is no longer,
What You designed it to be,
Our need for You is so much stronger
Your plan we cannot see.
Please be over this little child
Hold him ever closer in Your hand.
Give him strength for this trial.
He fights what he can't understand.
Precious little one so dear
It just cannot seem fair.
The fruition of our fears
Remind us You're still there.
Make of Him an example Lord
Of Your loving might.
For Your help we implored
Please hold him through the night.
From his very beginning
May we see Your grace.
While our world keeps on spinning.
Help us look upon Your face.
Hello dear family and friends. Stephanie and I have created this blog to provide you with updates on our little buddy Levi's fight with leukemia. Your outpouring of love, support, and prayers has been both overwhelming and humbling. We have a long road ahead of us, but we know, with God's help, that Levi can win this battle. He is a tough little guy fighting a tough disease, but our God is tougher. Please feel free to read our posts and comment as you feel led.

ReplyDeleteHannah, my heart in words, thank you daughter.
ReplyDeleteMike & Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about the battle that Levi has ahead of him. My little guy, James, is only 8 months old and has spent over 3 months of his life in hospitals undergoing 6 surgeries. It's not the same, but I understand how hard it is sitting in operating waiting rooms just waiting and then waiting some more. Know that I am praying for you and your family. You are lucky to have such good friends and family close by to help out. If you ever need someone to talk to or vent to, please do not hesitate. I know that most of the time I preferred to just sit with James by his bed, but sometimes I needed an ear to listen.
In Christ's Love,

ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteThis is Brian Brinkman. Alicia told me about your son. I am terribly sorry to hear that he is sick. We will be praying for your family. I know how touching and special it can be to hear that many others are praying for your child. We went through a very tough period just before and after our twins were born, but we never lost faith. Keep in mind that doctors know science, but God is ultimately in control. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Michael & Steph,
ReplyDeleteYour family is very precious to us. Even though you don't know us, we feel we know you very well. You are in our prayers, God has a plan in all of this. We are here for you in any way we can be.
